My Current Brainchild, my New Baby and minor knitting progress (Oh yeah... knitting...)

The current brainchild is my final for the rendering class. And a difficult birth it is. **Warning - this is a progress shot** You may critique. :)

It took me 3 times to get the perspective right - it's from a little color photo in a book about this house, which I enlarged 400%, traced in pencil and then worked out in ink. The floorplans are traced from photocopies from the book as well, except that I skipped the pencil and went straight to ink. Oh! ... so daring! Next I'll have to color the perspective. Then, I'm planning to put an angle in the background that mimicks the shaped in front of the house (that shape is copper, btw, very interesting). I'll show you when I get done.

If all the tracing strikes you as odd, I think it's cheating, too. But what's not cheating? Should I stand out in the wind and rain with my little drawing board and freehand this baby? I don't think so.

The house is for sale, too, if you want to live in an architecturally exciting home... and if you can afford to live in the Berkeley hills, of course. I can't find the on-line listing, which is weird, because I saw the sign with my own two eyes just 2 days ago. Maybe it went like hotcakes!

So the point of this assignment is to make the house "easier to understand". So, if you saw this drawing and the floorplans, would you have an idea? Do you need more views of the back and other side? Imagine that you would have a key to the numbered rooms.

My New Baby is this sweet thing! I won't go into the details, but I have to say I acted with restraint & sensibility when I bought it! ;) The "stylish design" was the seller - I'm the kind of person who buys a car solely by the "does is look cool" criteria - who wants an unstylish computer? No, just kidding. I just think it's funny that they use the 'looks' of the computer as a selling point. I just want it to be FAST, and easy to look at the monitor since I do that all day. (Other than the times I spend tracing teeny tiny photocopies, of course.) So I'm waiting with baited breath - it's scheduled to arrive Tuesday! Yay!

Knitting... yes, there's progress, but nothing noteworthy, a few inches of stst on lovely Liana and a second heel on the socks. Just wanted to let y'all know I'm still alive. Just tired from school and work.
